City of Sanctuary ESOL Programme
At Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre we run classes teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). The ESOL programme is run entirely by volunteers, and is free of charge to all learners. We help all new arrivals, as well as people who have been in Coventry for a while. All our classes are led by qualified language teachers, and each class also has helpful assistants to support individual learners.
One learner said, “One day when I was in the Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre, I heard about their courses which run by City of Sanctuary with volunteer teachers and gratis so I applied.
After a few days I received a text message on my phone that they invited me to join their program; I started with them and I learned very useful lessons about English grammar, my vocabulary skill improved and I had help to improve my writing skill as well .
I found through that course good friends between students and teachers.”
“I want to say thank you to my teachers and classmates and organisers of City of Sanctuary; it was very useful for me to join in those lessons and also helped me to achieve to ESOL level 2, then by their support I am applying to university.”
If you want to learn English, come to CRMC and ask to be referred to the ESOL classes.
