Men’s Group
Weekly group offering food, shelter and friendly environment for destitute men.
Who we are
The Men’s Group is a FREE weekly drop-in session where we welcome men from all cultures and nationalities who are asylum seekers, refugees or migrants.
Through this group we help to reduce social isolation, increase people’s confidence, sense of belonging and strengthen cultural identity.
What we offer
We offer an informal, very friendly and relaxed environment where men can play pool, table tennis and board games.
The group also offers an opportunity to meet other men and make new friends. By meeting others in similar circumstances the group can share ideas, difficulties and experiences, and offer each other mutual support.
We organise workshops, talks and leisure outings, and can also offer advice about other services and providers to aid general wellbeing.
Accessing the service and opening hours
No referral or booking is needed. The group is FREE to ‘drop in’ every Tuesday from 1pm – 3pm at Jesus Centre, Lamb Street, Coventry, CV1 4BX.
If you would like further information on the group however, please use the contact information below or visit our premises at Norton House during office hours.
Supporting Men’s Group
The group relies on a dedicated team of volunteers and staff from Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre and Carriers of Hope to run the service. Anyone interested in volunteering can find out more by emailing our Volunteering Co-ordinator at volunteering@covrefugee.org.
We also provide other support to our Men’s Group and the destitute people we assist via our Destitution Fund, which provides essential items for those that are homeless including food, clothing, toiletries, sanitary products and nappies.
To find out more about this fund and how you can support it, please visit the Destitution Fund page.
